At Prosphora Holistics, we believe that God created man to live in accordance with nature. That is why we use sustainably or, if possible, locally sourced all-natural ingredients; we will NEVER use synthetic chemicals or industrial products. All of our soaps are made with rendered pig tallow from local farms, coconut oil, olive oil, fresh herbs and local spring water. We believe in respecting the gift of nature which God has given us, which is why we will never use unsustainably harvested ingredients like palm oil. With the grace of God, we pray that our products bring nourishment to your body and soul alike!

Where did our brand name come from?
Baking this bread is no ordinary task — it is expected that whoever is baking this bread should be doing so with reverence and prayer. We try our best to make all of our products in the same manner: reverently performing our labor as an offering to God.
Although the spiritual nature of the bread is grand, the physical ingredients are actually quite simple: water, flour, salt and yeast.
We aim to make our products just as simple, using as few ingredients as possible and keeping them all-natural.
Just as this holy bread is offered to God so that it may nourish our souls and body, we offer our handmade labors of love to you so it may nourish yours as well!
Prosphora is a Greek word (προσφορά) which quite literally means "offering." In ancient Greece, the term originally meant any offering made to a temple. But in Orthodox Christianity, it has become the name for the bread which is offered at the Eucharist during the Divine Liturgy. We Orthodox Christians believe that this bread becomes the Body of Christ which we believers partake of every Sunday in memory of our Lord.
And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

Our Main Ingredient
All of our soaps are made with lard rendered from organic pig fat which we proudly source from a nearby farm.
Quail Run Farm is a veteran-owned, family-operated regenerative farm in Lookout Valley, Tennessee. Following in the footsteps of those regenerative farmers who utilized the land before them and the natural resources of their animals, they provide the most ethically sourced meat, eggs, and honey in Chattanooga.
